Chapter 18: As Time Passes By...

As the days passed by, Callie continued to torment her sisters. She seemed to have lost interest in her mother for now, but Briannah became the focus of her cruel pranks. Callie would sneak up on Bri and scare her, or would destroy the hard work she had completed at the chemistry set. Occasionally Ansley caught the brunt of Callie's wrath, but not as often. The more miserable her sisters were, the happier she was.

The girls tended to go off by themselves most of the time. Ansley continued to be the most athletic out of the three. She would work out for hours in front of the TV. If she wasn't working out in the living room, she was out running around in the yard. Tanya could almost swear it was as if she were playing tag with someone, but there wasn't any other children to be seen. In fact, all three girls often acted as if they were talking or playing with an unseen entity. Tanya just chalked it up to their active imaginations.

Briannah found a love of chess. She had watched her brothers play for hours and soon, she was sneaking out onto the porch to play game after game herself. Bri never wanted anyone else to play with her though. A few times Brent and Chase offered, but she always declined. If she wasn't at the chess set, she could be found on the top balcony looking through her telescope for stars, or at the chemistry set cooking up a new potion.

Callie found a passion for cooking. When she wasn't tormenting her sisters, she could be found in their room making muffins on the toy oven. Callie tried as hard as she could to convince her sisters to try her concoctions but they didn't trust her. She also fell in love with the princess outfit and wore it constantly. It was all Tanya could do to coax her out of it long enough to wash it. She truly thought she was the ruler of her kingdom and treated her sisters as though they were her loyal subjects.

Brent and Chase took an interest in sports and would often spend weekends out in the back yard passing a ball back and forth. They loved the new house, but the less time they spent with their sisters, the happier they were. There was just something about them that gave the two the creeps. Even when they were toddlers, the boys knew the girls were different. Sims just weren't suppose to have eyes like that.

As the girls grew older, Brent came up with a way to get away from them for a while. He asked Tanya if he and Chase could enroll in boarding school. Of course he didn't tell her the real reason he wanted to go, just that it would be good for their college applications as the schools they wanted to attend were great prep academies. Tanya thought about it for a few days and decided that while she would miss them greatly it probably was for the best all around. Who knew what the girls' father was up to or when he'd show up again.

Anderson and Kaylynn had been growing much closer. They spent most evenings and weekends together. Anderson would arrange such romantic dates, from a day at the park, to going down to the river. Every Sunday when his royalty checks came in he bought her flowers, a different color each week. He had fallen for Kay hard, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and he was going to do everything in his power to show her how he felt.

One night, not long after the boys left for boarding school, Tanya decided to try one of the girls' Plasma Juice. She quickly became just as hooked as they were on the stuff. It was absolutely delicious! She would find herself craving it in the middle of the night and would get out of bed to drink it. It made her feel re-energized and often times she'd work on one of her novels afterward. She began to write at night and sleep deeply during the day, always waking up to a nice cold juice to start the night.

But she does seem to be acting a bit strange doesn't she?

  4. It's great to see the kids growing into their different personalities. I can understand the boys' fears too. You just added a whole new twisty element with the ending. I can't wait to see the cause of her sudden lifestyle change.
