A few weeks passed and things seemed to still be going well for the Rocks. Brent started high school and as he became a teenager, he developed his own unique sense of style. Tanya thought his choice of outfits was a bit odd, but as long as he was happy that was all that mattered. She had hoped he would get over his love of that damned chemistry set before he blew up the house, but even as a teen he spent hours out there cooking up new concoctions.
Not long after Brent's birthday, Tanya managed to write a best seller that came with a huge royalty check. At about the same time Tanya learned of her parent's passing. They had never had a chance to visit and meet her kids, but they did leave each of them a little something as well as a large inheritance for Tanya. Her parents had always wanted Tanya to move into a bigger place so the kids weren't so crowded, and now, finally they could.
The house was huge by their standards. It was a six bedroom home with 3 bathrooms! No longer would they all fight in the morning over the small bathroom in their old place. That would definitely come in handy once the girls got older. The house also had a pond on the back edge of the property, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and a gated area that could be used as a garden. There was plenty of space for Tanya to place playground equipment for the children.
For several nights after they first moved in, Tanya insisted they have dinner together each night. There was more than enough room at the dinner table. Anderson would cook while Tanya put the triplets to bed. Brent and Chase would work on their homework at the dinner table until it was time to eat. Once the food was ready and the family was digging in, Tanya would have them tell her what they did that day and what was the best thing that happened to them as well as one thing they were looking forward to the next day.
Tanya was still desperately trying to get through to Callie. She would read to her every night before bed, long after the other girls had fallen asleep. It seemed to help a bit, at least Callie hadn't torn the head completely off her doll yet. But Tanya was still a little scared of her youngest. She loved all of her kids, and didn't want anything to happen to any of them, but there was just something wrong that she couldn't put her finger on.
Anderson's daycare was going wonderfully. He had built up quite the clientele, including a few kids of Sunset Valley's most famous people. She didn't know how he did it, the triplets were enough for her to handle at a time. His toddlers loved the new house, especially all the new toys in the backyard. Most of them seemed to favor the new motorized rides. Tanya had put in one of each kind out in the back next to the old tree house that she had moved here with them.
Anderson was quickly falling head over heels for Kaylynn Langerak. The two had flirted off and on since they danced at his prom together. Since they had moved to the new house, Anderson had invited her over a couple of times. They would sit out on the back deck and watch the night sky or just walk hand in hand out to the pond and just talk. Tanya loved to watch the two of them, they were just adorable.
Before long it was Chase's birthday. Since they now had plenty of room, Tanya decided to throw a backyard party for him. She invited Kaylynn, Connor, and Christopher. Several other guests showed up as well and the party was a huge success! Tanya just couldn't believe all of her boys were growing up so fast! There was only one thing that could have made the party even better, and that was if Grady could have been there.
The night of Chase's birthday party, Anderson finally got up the nerve to tell Kay just how he felt. He asked her to follow him up to the balcony overlooking the pond on the third floor. Once they got up there, Anderson took Kaylynn's hands in his. He stared into her eyes and then quickly looked away as he blushed. Kaylynn giggled and then pulled his face back towards hers before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. From then on, they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Anderson was just over the moon happy after that night. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to get a girl like her. He had dreamed about being her boyfriend since he first saw her walk into his Math class. Now she was his, finally! Anderson soon became overwhelmed at the daycare and decided to close its doors. He instead wanted to become a famous painter so he set up a little studio on the balcony overlooking the rear of the property. It had such a great view he couldn't help but be inspired.
Awww, yay for Anderson! The new house looks great, too. Great update!
ReplyDeleteI love the new house!!! How sweet Anderson has a girlfriend. Maybe you'll be a grandmom at some point.
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm so happy for Anderson! <3
ReplyDeleteI love the new house, too!
This chapter made me so, so happy. The house looks lovely, I bet everyone is thrilled with the space! Maybe Callie has a terrible case of the terrible twos? But then again they always say a mother knows these things, right?
ReplyDeleteYay for Anderson. i'm so, so thrilled he's found someone to spend the rest of his life with.
Great update!
BTW, I love Brent's teen hairdo, it has so much personality!
man that house is gorgeous! is it on the exchange? as for Anderson, I'm glad he finally got the girl! (but still a bit jealous its not me!)
ReplyDeleteI love Callie's character, she is going to be so interesting to see what happens!
Great chapter as usual. Keep writing
I meant to add several pics of the house at the end of this chapter but forgot. I'll add them to the next update, promise!
ReplyDelete@Lynnwood,
Thanks for the compliment on the house. Yeah, it's getting close to time for Anderson to move on to the rest of his life, so I'm glad he found someone that makes him happy.
@Jazen,
It was definitely time for a new house heh. The other one just didn't have room for all of them, let alone visitors and the daycare kids.
It's going to be strange for Tanya to have kids younger than her grandchildren lol.
@Drew,
Me too :) Anderson has been such a great kid so he deserves all the happiness in the world.
@Val,
I'm so glad you liked this chapter :) I ended up cutting it a bit shorter than I originally planned as if I kept going I would have revealed a bit too much. Decided to make the next part a chapter all of its own.
It would be nice if it was just the Terrible Twos but somehow I don't think that's all it is.
As for Anderson, I agree. He's been great and so glad he has found someone to love, even if it did take him a while to get around to confessing his feelings hehe.
Brent's hair is kinda cool isn't it? Unfortunately he outgrows that fad in the next chapter hehe.
@Lilystar,
Thanks for the compliment on the house. I actually used a premade game house and just redid some of the interior and then landscaped it. I haven't put it on the exchange yet but I suppose I could.
Callie is definitely going to get more interesting as she gets older. Soon she'll be able to have much more interactions with people and her true colors will start to shine through.
I love the house, it's huge!
ReplyDeleteThanks Catlover :) It is huge. It took a while to get into a routine their trying to remember who was in what room etc hehe.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new house and move, and all the bdays! :) I am such a supporter for Anderson I am so happy for him!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jessuku :) The next chapter is going to have a few birthdays as well heh. Seems they are all aging up one right after the other.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I'm so glad he is happy and I hope it lasts for him.
LOL yah it's crazy how sometimes you'll get a lot of birthdays or sometimes you might have to wait and you have like this full house. Or perhaps that's my experience LOL! Anyway I can't wait for the next update!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Anderson! It was kinda romantic how Kaylynn responded :) Loved that and the new house!
